Cisco Support for Your Business Network
HTL Support provides specialist Cisco support for businesses that rely on Cisco networking and security. From day-to-day configuration changes and troubleshooting to upgrades and new deployments, our engineers help keep your Cisco estate stable, secure and aligned with your wider IT strategy.
Cisco describes Cisco Select Certified Partners as having sales and technical expertise in switching, routing, security, and wireless solutions for SMB customers, allowing them to deliver the new solutions their clients demand.
Some of our Senior Networking Engineers will hold certifications such as Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). As a company we have years of combined experience of implementing Cisco solutions from small offices, to datacentre infrastructure and Global Wide Area Networks (WAN).
Why Cisco Is Central to Your Network?
For many organisations, Cisco is the backbone of their IT environment. Switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points all play a part in keeping staff connected and data secure. When something goes wrong, it can affect every user in the business.
That’s why Cisco support needs to be more than occasional break-fix. It should be part of a structured approach to IT Network Support and IT Infrastructure & Operations, with the right skills on hand when you need them.
Our Cisco Support Services
Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances
ASAs are Cisco’s range of Firewalls. We commonly install the 5505 and 5510 models for our clients, but requirements vary and we can help with installations of all models.
ASA Firewalls provide high security defences against a range of Internet attacks and if you have invested in an ASA you should feel confident that you have the best protection available.
In addition to Security the ASA has a range of remote access features including:
SSL WEB VPN – Allows Users to access files and folders, as well as web based Applications securely.
IPSEC VPN: Branch offices, or remote workers can gain access to network resources remotely using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) across the Internet.
Cisco Wireless Access Points
Cisco Aironet are industry leading Wireless Acess Points. The Aironet 1140 series is the most common to be installed with our clients, but other ranges are easy supplied. Stand alone security or full integration with Radius or Microsft IAS is available. As you might expect from Cisco these products are very reliable, and highly secure.
Cisco Routers
Routers are the bits of hardware that link different networks together over a Wide Area Network (WAN). That could be your office connecting to another office, or your office connecting to the Internet.
Cisco 800 Series routers are perfect for small businesses, whilst larger businesses may look toward the 1900 Series or 2900
Cisco Switches
Cisco Switches connect the computers in an office together to form a Local Area Network (LAN). In small organisations typically we would choose Catalyst 2960 Switches, but Cisco provide a full range of switches using Optic Fibre or Copper Cabling ranging from 10Mb speeds all the way to 40Gb.

How Our Cisco Support Works
We start by understanding your current Cisco estate – devices, locations, key risks and any pain points. From there we agree how HTL will fit in:
- As your primary Cisco support partner, or
- As an escalation and project resource alongside in-house IT
Your internal team can raise tickets via our helpdesk, while more involved changes and projects are coordinated through your dedicated “IT Guy” and our network specialists. This integrates neatly with your existing IT Support London agreement.
Is HTL’s Cisco Support Right for You?
Our Cisco support is a good fit if:
If you’re unsure exactly what you have installed today, we can start with a network audit and documentation exercise.
Security and Resilience Built In
Cisco hardware often sits at the boundary between your organisation and the internet, so it plays a key role in security and resilience. As part of our Cisco support we can:
- Review firewall and VPN configurations for common weaknesses
- Align settings with your broader Cyber Security policies
- Ensure network design supports IT Service Continuity and recovery plans
- Work with you to segment networks and apply sensible access controls
This helps reduce risk while keeping networks manageable for your internal team.

Cisco Support
Frequently Asked Questions
What Cisco products do you support?
We support a wide range of Cisco networking and security products, including switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls. We also help with cloud-managed platforms such as Cisco Meraki. If you’re not sure exactly which models you have, we can identify them as part of an initial network review.
Can you take over support from our current Cisco provider?
Yes. We regularly onboard organisations that already have Cisco equipment in place. We’ll review the existing setup, gather configurations, check for obvious risks and then agree how support will work going forward, often as part of a broader IT Support or Managed IT Services agreement.
Do you work with our internal IT team or replace them?
That’s up to you. Many clients keep an internal IT person or small team and use HTL for deeper Cisco expertise, projects and out-of-hours cover. Others rely on us as their fully outsourced IT department. In both cases our Cisco specialists slot into your existing processes and reporting.
Can you help design or refresh our Cisco network?
Absolutely. We can design new networks or refresh existing ones, covering switching, routing, wireless and firewalls. Design work is usually delivered through our IT Consultancy and IT Infrastructure & Operations services, with ongoing support handled by our helpdesk and engineers.
How do you handle firmware updates and security patches?
We’ll agree a sensible update policy based on your risk profile and maintenance windows. Updates are planned, tested where appropriate, and applied in a controlled way to minimise disruption. This is often combined with broader Cyber Security and IT Service Continuity planning.
Do you only support Cisco networks in London?
Our core focus is London and the surrounding areas for onsite work, but we can support remote offices and users elsewhere using secure remote access tools. For multi-site networks, we’ll agree how best to combine remote and onsite support so everyone is covered.
Need reliable Cisco support for your network?
If Cisco is at the heart of your network, it’s worth having a partner who understands it properly. Whether you need day-to-day support, help with upgrades or a full network redesign, our Cisco engineers are here to help.
